On Tuesday, July 6 from 10:00AM – 3:30PM youth ages 12-25 can receive vaccination!
A vaccine pop-up clinic at our DeBoers site for any youth 12-25 years old who is receiving service from a child welfare agency. In partnership with Sick Kids and Ananishnawbe Health Toronto, the clinic will provide up to 300 doses of Pfizer – preference is to provide 1st doses however, no one will be turned away if they’re seeking their second dose (as per provincial guidelines: Pfizer before June 15 and Moderna before June 8).
We know some young people might face barriers in accessing vaccines, and that’s why this barrier-free, youth-friendly clinic is so important:
- It’s open to youth from any child welfare agency or postal code with no need to register before hand
- An OHIP card is preferred but not mandatory – youth are only required to bring a document with their name and birth date
- There is free parking and easily accessible via TTC
For youth who have questions or concerns, we’ve got them covered with on-site peer advocates, paediatricians, child life specialists and social workers ready to provide them with the right information and support. Plus, to top it all off there will a DJ, local catering and even an ice cream truck to ensure it’s an inviting and fun space for all.
